LCP is an award-winning actuarial and analytics consultancy providing advice on energy, pensions, investments, employee benefits, insurance and health.

Are you looking to embark upon your career in the exciting, fast-changing world of Pensions Management Consulting? If so then you have come to the right place!

What will you be doing?

The PMC practice is a growing and successful team of 18 staff members, all based in London. We provide a wide range of consultancy services to pension schemes of all shapes and sizes, and advise both trustees and the employers that sponsor these pension schemes. We work closely with our clients to make sure their pension schemes are run as well as possible.  The direction of your career is up to you – some members of the department specialise in a certain specific area, and others work across all aspects of pensions management consulting.   Key areas of our work include:

  • Advising on scheme governance, business planning, risk management and running trustee board meetings.
  • Advising on best practice for pension schemes, running interactive exercises to help trustees and sponsors assess their effectiveness and implement improvements.
  • Designing and leading bespoke procurement exercises for our clients. This requires us to be market experts and undertake detailed research with service providers.
  • Project managing a wide variety of projects for our clients, for LCP, and for the wider pensions industry.

Alongside your client work, you will have access to our graduate training programme features a series of scheduled training sessions. These cover a wide range of areas of professional expertise as well as in-depth technical training. At the same time, we’ll give you training in a variety of non-technical areas to help you develop your management and presentation skills.

As a consultancy, a key part of our work involves presenting advice and ideas to our clients in a way that is clear and easy to understand. We realise that for some, this will be a new experience – and possibly a daunting prospect! But there’s no need to worry. Our training programme is specifically designed to help you develop the skills and confidence you need to be a successful consultant. And initiatives such as “LCP speaking club” and “LCP Xtra” offer additional opportunities for you and your peers to practise your presentation skills in-house before you put them to the test in front of clients.

Of course, much of your training will be on the job, and we make sure this is structured to offer you the widest possible experience in all aspects of what we do. Finally, we have an in-house mentoring system, so there is always someone you can ask if anything seems unclear. You’ll be amazed at how quickly you’ll be putting what you learn to good use in your everyday work.

As a summer intern, you will be given upfront training to give you an understanding of the work we do, as well as in softer skills such as presentation training.  Alongside this training you will be given opportunities to get involved in a range of client work – gaining an insight into the tools we use to help clients and the way in which we interact with clients as good consultants.

What’s in it for you?

As well as gaining a valuable insight into the work we do in this area, you will get to experience a fun, collaborative, people orientated business environment.  We offer an attractive internship remuneration.

We continuously strive to build an inclusive workplace where all forms of diversity are valued, including age, background, disability, gender, gender identity, gender expression, race, religion or sexual orientation
