So what might your role involve if you join us as an actuarial trainee consultant in the Risk Modelling and Consulting practice? It’s fair to say that there is no average or typical day because the work can be so varied and our clients’ needs are diverse.
The risk modelling and consulting practice is our newest practice and brings together key risk modelling skills across the business and driving our diversification into new areas. The practice comprises of around 85 employees and is pivotal in providing innovative and market leading risk management solutions to our clients, as well as helping to provide analytics and insights to the rest of the business.
As an actuarial trainee risk modelling consultant you may be involved in a range of work, including:
- Identifying and helping develop models that either provide clients with solutions or support our internal systems that are used across the firm;
- Helping clients understand the risks they face, for example longevity and financial risks, and researching and developing strategies to manage this;
- Pro-actively consulting with key stakeholders in the practice and wider business to ensure client needs are met; and
- Working closely with people from many different disciplines and areas of expertise.
