Why did you join Aon’s graduate programme?
After leaving university, I knew that I wanted to immerse myself in a role where not only the project work would be very varied, but also where I could meet and work with a mix of different people. As a member of the A&A team, I have been able to gain exposure to projects in a range of areas, and have been able to understand how the work we do relates to and supports the wider business areas. I think that this experience is unique to Aon, and has allowed me to develop both my technical and soft skills.
What did you enjoy most about the Aon graduate programme?
Although this may sound like a cliché, the thing that I have enjoyed the most has to be the people that I have met! Everyone on the team is very friendly and happy to help answer any questions or offer any support. This has been paramount given the steep learning curve that I faced after leaving university and joining Aon. Additionally, being part of such a large programme has allowed me to build friendships with graduates from other streams and parts of the business
How you would describe the culture at Aon?
Everyone that I have met at Aon, within the A&A team and graduate programme has been very kind and supportive. My experience of the culture at Aon has been that is centred around a collaborative and uplifting workplace. There are lots of opportunities to get involved, gain knowledge and develop new skills.
What’s next for you?
I am currently working towards my actuarial qualification, and preparing for my upcoming exams. I’m interested in finding new links between theoretical knowledge from the qualification and the technical skills used in day-to-day project work. I am also looking forward to engaging more with the Aon networks and learning more about the work that they are doing.
