2023 Pensions Actuarial Summer Internship:

Are you in your penultimate year? Studying a science or maths based subject? On target for a 2:1? If so, then Isio may have an opportunity that will help steer your career journey in the right direction. Our Summer internship is a 6-8 week programme that is designed to give you work experience within the Actuarial world. You will have the opportunity to discover what it’s like to be part of a professional team, as well as delve into some very exciting live projects. This opportunity could also lead to a potential place on our graduate programme the following year.

Length of Programme:

6-8 weeks (duration will be confirmed during the application process)

Location: Our schemes are available in all of our offices which include: London, Manchester, Birmingham, Reading, Bristol, Leeds, Glasgow & Edinburgh

Requirements:

  • On track for a 2:1 from a numerate or science-based subject e.g. mathematics, engineering, chemistry, physics, economics, finance, statistics or actuarial science
  • Right to work in the UK

The Programme:

Pension schemes often pose significant financial risks for organisations and trustees, whilst remaining an important part of any reward strategy. As leaders in the pensions industry, you will be working with some of the best in the industry to:

  • Calculate the value of pension and other retirement benefits, using statistical techniques, financial indicators and life expectancy assumptions.
  • Analyse financial modelling and risk to help clients understand their future pension obligations and principal risks.
  • Advise clients on their pensions strategy and how to manage these risks, both on a day-to-day basis and when considering a long-term objective.
  • Help design and implement employee communication programmes.
  • Help clients understand and manage accounting, tax and legislative changes that affect their pension schemes.
