Our DC & Financial Wellness team provides clients with strategic advice and guidance to support the financial wellbeing of their employees. As an intern within our DC & Financial Wellness team, you will support the delivery of advisory services to companies and trustees operating Defined Contribution (DC) pension schemes. This will involve working alongside more experienced analysts and consultants to support our clients on the investments and governance of their DC pension schemes. You will be involved in carrying out financial modelling, calculations, and industry policy analysis as well as writing reports.

Key duties will include:

• Designing investment strategies and benefit structures for DC pension schemes, including the determination of asset allocation and contribution rates.
• Working with clients, investment managers, third parties, etc. to source information and resolve queries.
• Being familiar with the regulatory, business and economic issues faced by our clients and the impact on their DC pension schemes.
• Analysing data and policies; then, summarising relevant findings and client implications into clear and cogent reports.
• Producing reports to support corporate, trustee and individual decision making around retirement choices and pension scheme management.
• Communicating effectively in a non-technical manner.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 300 UCAS points obtained in 3 subjects including a numerical A level at a minimum of grade B, on target for a 2:1 honours degree in a numerical or semi numerical degree (equivalent qualifications are accepted).
• An interest in financial markets and pensions.
• A strong customer service focus and desire to work with clients to help them achieve their objectives.
• Self-motivated, eagerness to learn and to keep up to date with the respective industry trends and market conditions
• Ability to work in a team that must respond to a rapidly changing environment.
• Ability to work as part of a team and within a collaborative environment
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to assimilate data as well as review and solve client issues.
• Ability to work well under pressure, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
• Takes ownership for work, always ensuring standards and deadlines are met and keeping others informed and up-to-date.
• Exceptional attention to detail ensuring quality and delivery in line with deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
