Business Planning Actuary

London / Hybrid work (3 days work from home)

£90k – £100k base salary (DOE) + pension, bonus, private health

Permanent / 37.5 hours p/week

About the area you will be working in…

As the Business Planning Actuary, you will work closely with the Head of Actuarial Reporting to develop baseline business plans for Bupa. In addition, you will support projects across Bupa’s wider Actuarial teams, assisting with statistical and actuarial solutions. You will enjoy significant exposure to senior stakeholders.

What you will be doing…

  • Manage the development of Bupa’s Annual 3-year plans & estimated forecasts

  • Lead the Insurance Planning workstream for Actuarial Transformation

  • Develop dashboards to explain variances in insurance planning

  • Partner with Actuarial Pricing and Commercial teams

  • Financial risk and statistical investigations – support Actuarial Analytics

  • Drive improvements in planning / forecasting capability

  • Support engagement with PRA and FCA regulators

Who we’re looking for…

  • Qualified Actuary (IFoA or equivalent) – strong, newly qualified candidates will be considered

  • Planning experience – general insurance or health insurance

  • Excellent reporting writing, planning and organisation skills

  • Proven ability to apply data analytics & modelling to business situations

  • Proactive mindset and ambitious Actuary!
