Our client, a partner-led Consultancy, is looking for a Consulting Actuary to join their DB Pensions Consulting team in a role which can be based from a number of office locations.  The Consulting Actuary position would suit someone fully Qualified who has experience working across a range of DB Pension schemes.

Working across a portfolio of predominantly Trustee schemes, this role would see you taking a lead role as the main point of contact for a variety of clients. The Consulting Actuary will advise on a range of standard and bespoke projects, working with junior colleagues to ensure client work is delivered on time and to a high standard. You will work collaboratively with Partners to manage client relationships, contributing to new business tenders and engaging with potential clients in the market.

The Consulting Actuary position can be based from a number of different offices in the UK. Hybrid working is offered as standard, with most colleagues spending 2 days a week in the office. This company is able to offer visa sponsorship to those already working in the UK Actuarial market, or with relevant experience looking to relocate from overseas.

Responsibilities of the Consulting Actuary:

  • Provide expert advice to Corporate and Trustee pension schemes on a range of issues including Risk Transfer, Longevity, Investments and Risk Management
  • Leading client relationships with your own client portfolio, providing advice directly and managing work allocation internally
  • Review a range of calculations and valuations work completed by junior team members
  • Attending client meetings and contributing to new business efforts
  • Managing, mentoring and training junior Actuarial staff where appropriate

Skills/Experience required for the Consulting Actuary:

  • Qualified Actuary
  • Prior experience in DB Pensions Consulting
  • Strong communication skills
