Our client is looking for a Senior Actuarial Analyst who will enhance the company’s expertise dealing with a wide range of activities and product lines in an international context. The successful candidate will primarily work from home but would be expected to gather with other actuarial colleagues in Glasgow regularly.
Description of Duties:
- Support and advise Underwriting and the business in relation to pricing case referrals and client tenders
- Conduct annual product reviews to assess the adequacy of premium rates and profitability and make recommendations for future price changes
- Preparation of experience studies (e.g. medical trend, seasonality) to optimise pricing strategy
- Building, improving, and updating claim and loss ratio projection models for quarterly forecasts
- Develop and optimise pricing tools and insights to support underwriters in experience and manual pricing of both medical and non-medical products
- Analyse expense attribution to support Cigna’s tiered administration proposition
- Maintain and improve actuarial databases (eligibility information, claims information, FX tables)
- Determine business drivers to explain actual financial results (loss ratio and claims experience) versus forecasted results on a monthly basis
- Work with sales, account management, underwriting and other key stakeholders to develop new products to facilitate revenue growth
- Quantify benefit differentials to tailor benefit designs to clients’ needs
- Creating ad-hoc reports to assist other business partners in their reporting and analysis
Qualifications
- Nearly or newly qualified actuary
- At least 3 years industry experience
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Strong communication skills
- Good knowledge of MS Office
- Self-motivated and solutions-oriented
