Job Description

Our services are designed to support trustees and employers by delivering pragmatic advice which brings clarity to complex issues such as investing assets, de-risking, longevity, risk management and the impact of legislative changes. We undertake a range of services for clients including full-service actuarial consulting, investment consultancy and standalone projects such as mergers and acquisitions. Responsibilities 

  • Calculate complex bulk/individual benefit and actuarial calculations (such as transfer values) and check more straightforward calculations
  • Undertake the bulk of the calculations for an actuarial valuation and related calculations
  • Preparation of draft client reports and advice
  • Undertake calculations on behalf of IFAs, insurers, prospects and existing pension scheme clients using in-house software
  • Dealing with clients’ and third party telephone queries and day to day correspondence providing technical advice where needed
  • Perform work relating to legislative requirements, such as assisting with the preparation of scheme accounts
  • Miscellaneous calculations
  • Assist with developing the practice area services
  • Assist in developing procedures/tools to extend the range of the practice areas work/services
  • Research new and/or technical topics and reporting back to the team
  • Assist in producing practice area newsletters and marketing material
  • Understand requirements of the Pensions Regulator

Qualifications

  • If training to be a qualified FIA/FAA, be part-qualified and making progress through the exams
  • Be a team player
  • IT skills to perform all aspects of work efficiently, including internal software
  • Developing presentation skills to a small audience
  • Good understanding of the basics of pensions
