As well as traditional actuarial areas, our actuaries work in a number of other fields where they apply their actuarial skills to bring a fresh perspective to solving business problems.
Our actuarial students have the opportunity to build experience in a wide variety of roles. Depending on location, these can include financial reporting, capital management, product pricing, investment, pension consultancy, project delivery, risk management and with profits work.
There are opportunities to work with different areas of the company, including our policy administration business Royal London Plus, our pensions arm Scottish Life, our protection businesses Bright Grey and Scottish Provident, and our international arm Royal London 360°.
We are looking for people who have the drive to succeed in the actuarial exams, develop as professionals and make a valuable contribution to our business. In addition to an excellent academic record, we’re looking for individuals who have:

– the ability to work effectively both independently and in multi-disciplinary teams
– strong technical and problem solving skills
– business acumen
