Deadline

25 Jul 2013

Starting your career with Phoenix provides you with a rare chance to develop your actuarial skills in a unique setting, with the UK’s largest closed life and pension fund consolidator.
In the role of Actuarial Technician, you’ll be responsible for providing all round support, whilst at the same time making the most of this opportunity to extend your actuarial skills and knowledge base. Your responsibilities will focus on assisting the actuarial teams in the production of accurate and timely results used in statutory valuations and other reporting exercises, and to develop an understanding of key actuarial techniques and controls. You could be engaged in a range of duties – from the running of valuation models, to helping us to maintain and improve our control framework.
This is a great opportunity for exposure to the actuarial world, offering genuine potential for technical and personal development. It is ideally suited to a numerate, confident communicator with plenty of drive and initiative, who can point to good IT skills including proficiency in MS Word and Excel applications. We’ll expect you to be a strong team player and to have the ability to work unsupervised, as well as being able to demonstrate excellent planning, organisation and investigative skills. We’re particularly keen to hear from you if you have experience in a numerate or analytical background, and we welcome applications from those seeking to make the move from another analytical field into the financial services industry. All we ask is that you have either graduated from or are currently undertaking a maths or other numerate degree. Please be aware that there is no study support package offered with this role.
From the moment you arrive here at our prestigious head office location in Wythall, we guarantee that you’ll be impressed. Set in 42 acres of grounds, it really is the perfect place to live, work and play.
So if you’re ready to take the next step, we can offer the chance to join a fast developing FTSE listed company, fully intent on becoming a ‘best in class’ financial and risk management enterprise.
