Deadline

31 Jan 2014

Actuaries apply mathematical and statistical methods to assess the risk of something happening – be that for a person or company. And at Zurich, as part of the graduate programme, you’ll receive fantastic training, development and the chance to influence critical business decisions.
As a trainee actuary, you will assist with pricing and reserving work, and help identify, analyse and quantify financial risk and its consequences – both of which are fundamentally important to our business. Using your analytical and mathematical skills, you’ll work alongside some of the most talented qualified actuaries, as well as liaising with other areas of the business, including Finance and Underwriting. You’ll also be shown how to study historical data, assess current risks and create models to forecast the future.
At the same time, we will support you in becoming a qualified actuary, providing all the help and mentoring you need to get through the exams as quickly as possible. Whilst the work is highly demanding and challenging, if you’re motivated and ambitious you won’t find a better place to make your name.
Ideally you’ll have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum 2:1 degree (or the equivalent) in a numerate discipline
  • 280 UCAS points (or the equivalent)
  • Strong Maths A Level (or the equivalent)
  • Analytical and numeracy skills
  • The ability to communicate complex subject matter in simple terms

We operate on a first-come-first-served basis when filling our graduate opportunities, so if you’re interested please submit your application ASAP!
