Graduate from the University of Bristol with an integrated masters Mathematics with Statistics degree, on track for a first class mark. Focused heavily on statistics, with keen interests in financial mathematics, data science, machine learning and risk management – obtaining first class marks in all prevalent modules listed. Qualified for exemption from the CS1 exam of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries due to marks attained at university as per the University of Bristol professional accreditation page.

Ready to apply the skills obtained throughout my time at university for practical use, allowing said skills to be further developed whilst also being eager to learn new concepts. Due to the nature of my degree, the presence of exams will not be challenging and the study-work lifestyle translates nicely from university. Undertaken many group projects at university – including cryptography, neural network classification, statistical inference, bankruptcy assessments, and more – giving myself a look into how the workplace might operate whilst improving teamwork and communication skills. Important to note that these projects involved both Python and R.

My interest in statistics, alongside risk management and quantitative analysis is my main inspiration of becoming an actuary. My tendency to tackle complex problems in various ways, whilst also having a formidable attitude, allows me to sometimes arrive at solutions in an unorthodox fashion, showcasing both my problem solving skills and my resilience. My willingness to challenge existing ideas and to learn will motivate others around me allowing for greater team cohesion and efficiency.

Currently situated in Yorkshire and the Humber area, but more than happy to work around the UK, particularly closer to major urban areas (London, Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol in particular). Having friends and family scattered around the country allows for a much easier time to relocate, whilst also being available to work from home if need be.

Have a passion for the gym, football and cinema, allowing me to take my mind of work altogether. Also like to enjoy some recreational maths; sometimes related to work, sometimes not. Currently working on improving my SQL skills, whilst also looking for part time work over the summer.
