In spite of the recession, greater spending is predicted for UK IT departments in 2013.
An international survey of 3,282 IT professionals found that IT spending has increased from 56% in 2012 to 59% this year.
The results of the Computer Weekly/TechTarget IT priorities survey 2013 revealed that 76% of UK IT managers expect their budgets to rise or remain the same, up 57% from last year.
Roy Illsley, principal analyst for technology consultants Ovum, responds to the findings: “We are bouncing along the bottom of the recession, but there are signs that IT spending is increasing in lots of different areas.”
One such area, cited by 33% of UK IT professionals as their primary focus for 2013, is the expansion of IT to support the growth of their company.
