Capgemini have been contracted by Direct Line Group to build and run a new IT system for the company’s corporate and business applications.
The insurer is separating from their former parent company, the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS). After being rescued from collapse during 2008, the partly nationalised bank has been forced to sell assets, such as Direct Line.
Direct Line CEO Paul Geddes said the company had been planning to split systems from RBS.
The migration to the new system will take two years and cost £100 million.
